LVX Gel Top Coat

Hi loves!

I'm so sorry for not posting my regular Sunday blog post. I hope you are all well!

Today I want to share with you my thoughts on a new top coat. LVX has launched a new gel top coat that combines all the wonderful features of a gel polish in a regular top coat.
LVX Gel Top Coat provides beautiful shine, plumping action, and long lasting wear. More information on LVX products can be found here: www.shoplvx.com

Here is a mani I topped with the this top coat. You can see that glossy shine. I was able to wear this mani for 5 full days with no chips. If you reapply the top coat twice a week, it helps protect your mani even more and builds up that plumpness you see in gel polishes.
Here is another mani topped with the top coat.
This was also topped with the top coat. It doesn't cause any streaking of the design too.
This top coat also dries very fast and unlike Seche Vite, a popular fast drying top coat, this one doesn't contain formaldehyde. It also doesn't contain formaldehyde-resin, DBP, toluene, or camphor. These chemicals are the more toxic chemicals found in some nail polishes. It also does not cause your manicure to "shrink" which sometimes happens when the fast drying top coat dries faster than the base polish does, resulting in the top coat pulling the base polish away from the edges.

This LVX Gel Top Coat is my absolute new favorite top coat. I love how it is able to protect your design for longer than regular top coats, but can be removed with normal polish remover. It doesn't require soaking your nails in pure acetone like gel polishes require.

LaCC Beauty 1997

Hello lovelies!

I had such a busy day at work. It's nice having time off but why does it feel like the first day back to work is always the longest and all the problems compound that day? I digress! The only way to forget about my troubles of the day is to do my nails. :)

The polish I wanted to show you is the 3rd and final shade from La Couleur Couture's Spring/Summer Collection. More information on LaCC can be found here: www.laccbeauty.com. This is 1997, a beautiful lavender gray that applies so smoothly!

This is 2 thin coats with no top coat. I'm in love with this one!
How unique and pretty! I paired it with some silver chevron accents. LOVE!
La Couleur Couture polishes are non-toxic, vegan friendly, and cruelty free. They are 5-free, meaning they don't contain formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DBP, or camphor, which are the more toxic chemicals often found in nail polish. I am so happy to say that LaCC products can now be purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada. So exciting!!

LaCC Beauty 1969

Hi hi!

Up next from the Spring/Summer 2014 collection from La Couleur Couture is the pretty pistachio green 1969. More information on La Couleur Couture can be found on their website www.laccbeauty.com

This mossy green is a creme polish that is fully opaque in 2 coats.
It is a unique colour and not your typical pastel green you see in the Spring. I paired it with some holographic lightning bolt designs done with tape as a guide.
It is very eye catching and trendy. LaCC products can be purchased online or at your local Shoppers Drug Mart for all my lucky Canadian friends.

LaCC polishes are non-toxic, vegan friendly and cruelty free. Not many companies can say this. I'm proud that this Canadian brand is one of them!

Broadway Nails Impress Press-On Nails

Hello lovely people!

I signed up for Influenster and was selected to review the Broadway Nails Impress Press-On Nails kit.

These cute little press-on nails come in 24 pieces so you can find the nail that best fits your nail bed. I received 2 sets free of charge to review without compensation.

This was my first set of press-on nails. I normally just paint my own natural nails but I thought to give these a go after having a mental block and not being able to decide what to paint.

The designs I received were a cute zebra print and a pink and purple cheetah print.

After selecting which nails best fit your nail beds. You will remove the plastic tab which reveals the adhesive side. This is what will stick to your nail.
You will then apply the nail to your bare, clean nail. Press down the nail and it should stick to your natural nail bed.
These nails are slightly soft so they bend a little. They are advertised to last for a week. I kept them on for a few hours and washed my hands several times. They were not very secure and were easily to peel off. If I were to wear these again, I would apply some nail glue to better hold the nail.
They are quite easy to apply and come in many different designs and colours. I recommend these for short term use and if you do not have much time to do your nails. They are versatile and are a good product for beginners who are just starting to experiment with nail art. More information on these nails can be found at www.broadwaynails.com

LVX Summer 2014 Laguna and Viola

Happy Sunday but more importantly, Happy Mother's Day!

Today I have the final 2 colours from LVX's Summer 2014 collection to share with you. We have Laguna, a vibrant Sky blue and Viola, a rich royal purple-blue. Information on LVX products can be found on their website: www.shoplvx.com

LVX products are 5-free (no formaldehyde, formldehyde resin, toluene, DBP, or camphor), vegan friendly and cruelty free. The colours are designed to match fashion trends. Their polishes are high shine, chip resistant, and contain a UV protectant to resist fading from the sun.

The first one to show you today is Laguna, a bold bright blue that reminds me of the blue Pacific Ocean.
This is 2 coats, no top coat:
How stunning is this colour???
I paired this with some scallop shaped designs because of how it reminds me of the ocean.
I will definitely be wearing this shade a lot this summer!

Last, but certainly not least, is Viola, a dark royal violet with blue undertones.
This is 2 thin coats with no top coat:
So so pretty!! It reminds me of the blue paint used in gzhel pottery so I paired it with some blue flowers:
Because this is such a rich, dark colour, you may get some slight staining on your nail so make sure you wear a good quality base coat and remove the polish with multiple cotton pads so that you don't smear the polish on your fingers.

This collection by LVX is my favourite collection of any brand in a long time. The quality is incomparable and the colours are bold and trend setting. Two thumbs up for me!

LVX Summer 2014 Aster and Lolli

Hi hi!

I don't usually post on Tuesdays but I wanted to share some more beauties from LVX's Summer 2014 collection. More information on LVX can be found on their website: www.shoplvx.com

Today I'll be showing off Aster, a lovely lavender and Lolli, a cute bubblegum pink.

First up is Aster, a warm lilac light purple with pink undertones. This beautiful creme polish applies like a dream.
Pictured here is 2 coats, no top coat for the straight swatch:
It is seriously gorgeous!! I had to pair it with some equally pretty flowers. I have a video tutorial on my Instagram page for the basic flower design. This one has the fabulous gel top coat, Plump it Up, on top. I'll have a full review on the top coat in another post.
Definitely one of my favourites in this collection!

Next is Lolli, a cute pastel pink creme and is LVX's first pink pink. I was ecstatic to see that they had a pink polish because I knew that based on their formula, this would be my perfect pink!
Pictured here is 3 thin coats for full, streak-free opacity.
I'm in love! It's so feminine and girly and perfect for any occasion! I paired it with a cute bow design:

These 2 cute polishes are not only easy to apply, but they are also non-toxic, vegan friendly, and cruelty free. One of my favourite brands by far! The Summer 2014 collection is slated for release on May 15, 2014!

LVX Summer 2014 Porcelaine and Lemondrop

Hello loves!

I know Spring has just started but as in the world of fashion, the polish collections are released one season ahead. Today I have some beauties from the upcoming Summer 2014 collection by LVX. There are 6 creme polishes and 1 awesome new gel top coat being released in mid-May.
Pictured are: Porcelaine (ivory white), Lemondrop (pastel yellow), Laguna (bright baby blue), Viola (dark purple blue), Aster (lilac lavender), Lolli (bubblegum pink), and Plump Me Up Gel Top Coat.
LVX polishes are 5-free (no formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DBP, or camphor), vegan friendly (no animal by products), and cruelty free (not tested on animals). They contain a UV protectant to prevent fading and are chip resistant. They can be found here: www.shoplvx.com
Today, I'll showcase 2 polishes from the Summer 2014 collection: Porcelaine and Lemondrop.

Porcelaine is an ivory off-white that is a clean polish that is opaque and streak free in 2-3 coats.
I used 3 coats in my swatch with no top coat.
Such a bold, bright white. I love it! It is so fashion forward, I had to pair it with a fashion pattern.

Next up is Lemondrop, a light pastel yellow that is not obnoxiously bright but rather, subtle and can compliment many skin tones.
This was 2 coats with no top coat.
I paired this cutesy yellow with some cutesy flowers.

I'm such a fan of LVX products because of the high quality product that is long lasting. Stay tuned for the next 2 shades!
